a song and its mystery

never thought I would feel the way I do
almost thought I could never love
but I think it's getting near
cause the closer I get to you
the closer I get to love

is this love?
making my head spin for you
tell me what it is you do
to make me feel the way I do
cause the closer I get to you
the closer I get to love

so in love...

I used to listen to this song at City Lite. and WOW I just love it so much, the simplicity of the lyrics, my apologies for being cliche, the sound, and the artist's voice...such an audibly beautiful song to me. I just don't know the title and the artist...it's a century and more and that information is still a mystery...a City Lite dj used to tell on air that it is an Eric Benet song and the title is "so on love" but I could not get any info online

the song with 288,000 jellybeans

I first encountered her songs, I think it was on Magic with Boom Gonzales on air, I was
actually only half listening...then suddenly she did her rendition of Tracy Chapman's fast car,
and in a jiffy, I've been attentive

her 'in your arms'

been hearing it over the radio, that it has become an LSS during shower, while cooking or washing the dishes and Zadee's started to like it too, now she sings it with our walis tambo...
nakikiLSS na rin ang anak ko ngayon

I think I am sentimental this way...

I think I’ve been having an LSS moment with Loggin’s songs lately,
even though I've been listening to a lot of my favorites like D'sound,
Corinne Bailey Rae, Maxwell, Boney James and Kenny Lattimore.
So in addition from my two previous favorite. I also love this one…
because just like Lee Retinour’s Dreamwalking. I also hear this even
during sleep. Although, I still have one Loggins song that I like which
I don’t know the songtitle, bakit ba naman kasi Citylite…and I should
add Sheryl Crow’s version of One Less Bell To Answer. I like Sheryl Crow
when she sings this way, oh well I'd still like to sing to her song
Strong Enough, though J

leap of faith...

I know I was still in gradeschool , when I first got to listen to this album.

I remember Papa Yeye bought it with me at SM North's record store, he had a very huge influence with my music preference.

and boy I am glad he did. I even wanted to have it for myself. He didn't know that I was playing it whenever he's not around just to get to listen to my favorites

until one day the deck tape started acting up...I was so frantic I can only salvage it with a scotch tape...I was waiting for him to confront me although that never came. buti na lang, hehe

And yes I am a Loggins fan...from then on. I would squeal whenever a song from him is played on the radio, back when the LS station isn't into its 'tugs tugs tugs theme', hay sell out!

and yes I was so jealous with Geneva Cruz when she performed my most favorite song with him

during his concert here. oh I wish I was the one singing instead with him. And yes, this song, his song... I would do anything, I'm just in love with this song, and who would've thought Sheryl Crow could sing as enchanting as this, far from her rock star image. And yes I love Sheryl Crow

and oh, I also love this song from the album...actually I love the entire album

Last Music Syndrome

I miss listening to the radio, I rarely have the chance to…and I am no longer up to date of the current songs on radio airplays…I guess when you’re getting old…this is inevitable…
I think the 90’s music have become my last song syndrome or my last music syndrome, maybe? I guess, part of it is that everything is so sell out in the mainstream…and everything on tv is a scripted reality show. I think Kat Agarrado of sinosikat have said it better than me on their Mr. Musikero hehe. But I certainly miss listening to these particular artists and their songs. I’ll start with my female favorites…how I become amazed by Aia’s voice while watching her sing Otherwise on MTV Sessions and of course Barbie Almalbis ‘Torpe’ at a Sunday Noontime show, was it Sa Linggo NAPo sila. It always remind me of my highschool crush, uy ngiting hapee toothpaste ka dyan. [Joie], san ka na ba ngayon Joie. I don’t watch these recent Sunday shows. I get bored :P and Viktoria, the queen of Philippine music videos. just a big fan of her! And yes Cynthia Alexander…Rippingyarns. Yes! I could sing their songs over and over again at mambulahaw ba ng kapitbahay

Gerald Albright, my kind of Barry White

Yes! his songs,
and a collaboration with Will Downing with his deep baritone voice that I fell in love with...
BTW I love the metronome intro on this video
It's my first time seeing this one. I've listen to this song all the time and it’s always on my playlist

I just love Will Downing. It is definitely his voice...he sings his own versions and make them classic and timeless...just the way he did with,The Nearness of You and I don't wanna lose you.
I guess I am mushy this way

Real Love by Paulinho Da Costa

If I would pick something romantic...this would be the one I like

sigh sigh palooza lol

Dreamwalkin' by Eric Tagg and Lee Ritenour

How could I not post this song?
I guess if I could pick one song that I would like to hear in my dreams...
this would be it!
I always sleep with the radio on, back then...it's amazing!!!
that even in the busiest times of my R.E.M, I would hear this song in my sleep
I recall hearing it many times at KLite. The DJ must really like this song.
I am glad he do. Eric Tagg did another version of this...a few tweaks with the lyrics
and it's a little more solemn but I prefer this one.
I was able to purchase a smoothjazz album: Lite Jazz Moments
and I was so excited to play it at home but I got Eric Tagg's version, instead.
Thanks to the Internet, I found the verson that I like.
But I guess, if If I feel sad, I sometimes like to listen to the other version.

another song that I like from Lee Ritenour is Is it You? love them love them :)

Sunlight

One of my favorite SmoothJazz artists that I love to listen to at CityLite is Michael Tomlinson,
I fell in love with his song "Sunlight..." the very first moment I've listen to it. And I wait and I wait and I wait for them to play it on air. I've tried to purchase the album and rummage through record stores...searching for it at the smoothjazz aisle but it was not there and I've been hopeless for such a long time...so I'm done with the blanktape sagas during Highschool...then came the CDs era...hmmm I have my Greenhills buy of smoothjazz selections but it's still different hearing it on the radio. There are also two songs that I really like from him...another one is Highway Rain and also Dawning On The New Day. I could just listen to his songs all day...he just have this soothing voice...[sayang medyo napasarap sya sa pagyodel sa acoustic version na'to]

Who are you by Bill Cantos

I guess I could say I grew up, or probably matured? living by myself (well, I had my lola with me) but practically, I was just alone...
I never had a chance of sharing a room with a sister. So mostly, I am the kind of girl that loves to lock myself in my room...and boom...I guess, the only luxury I can afford by that time is to listen to the radio.
Gone are the days of purchasing blank tapes...waiting for your favorite song to be on the airplay and hit the record button, praying that the DJ won't do ad libs...and you cursed (Grrr...) once he did.
I grew up listening to these stations...especially Monster Radio RX...and I prefer Tom Alvarez to be my favorite Disk Jockey on the station...plus some other favorite radio stations too like K-Lite, where even while fast asleep. I know I heard them play Dreamwalking by Lee Ritenour and Eric Tagg...and yes Crossover. But the one that I miss the most which is no longer on air is CityLite. It's my preferred smoothjazz radio station. It's pretty tranquil without all the brouhahas of advertising, plus they play all the songs that I like since Crossover is more in tune with the Classic types... and this is my little eulogy for the station.
I've been looking for this song by Bill Cantos for such a long time now and I am SO glad that I found it on youtube. I have some other songs that I miss listening to but I couldn't find them online. I guess the disadvantage of CityLite being a tranquil station is that I don't get to learn who the artists were. But I am not going to stop searching. I am going to post some of my favorite jazz songs that I like...praying I have the time
