portraits and the beauty of being unfinished

I never really get to finish most of them...inspiration is really very elusive

the beautiful and the intrepids

I am kind of speechless with these illustrations but I could say
that the last one is my favorite :)

never really thought of posting these because I know they are not good enough
but going back through my sketchpads...I realized I've collected  some okay
and mostly failed attempts at illustrations and watercolor paintings

illustrations and inspirations...

insomnia has been an unwanted company last night so I decided to ignore him and stumbled upon Valerie Chua's blog "Quiet Girl" I probably had two cups of coffee. I was drawn at how amazing her artworks are, and didn't realized it was past 3 in the morning. I suddenly miss sketching. Her artworks suddenly made me remember one sketch that I made. It has been yellowed and tainted with time. the spots kind of look like bruises now. I was scouring through drawers trying to find my sketchpads. I know I can never reciprocate her artworks but I am suddenly inspired...
my failed attempts at watercolor sunsets
one thing I learned though is that your paintbrush needs to be in love with you
in order to come up with finer brush strokes

Though I often looked for one, I finally had to admit that there could be no cure for Paris. ~ Hemingway

"That Paris exist

and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world

will always be a mystery to me."

~ Midnight in Paris

yes, that Paris exist, temporarily in our home...

I painted this Paris scene mural and had this diy Le Tour Eiffel replica...

in her favorite shade...pink.

Thank you for our neighbor's bougainvilla haha

I don't have enough budget so might as well give all the effort... oui! bien sur!

Keep Calm & Enjoy

KC was in charged of the cake, she had a friend that takes cakes&cupcakes orders, which saved me a lot as well from discounts. ooh la la love it :)

my birthday girl

I had a pretty set up for the cafe until the fondue suddenly decided to become an active volcano and erupted splashes of chocolate lava even before I could take a picture. (pag wala nga namang dating ganito sa barrio

checking how my paper mache teacup will look like as party favors. I think I paper mache'd
around 50 teacups, didn't meet my 60 teacups goal :(
but Ann Wood's  teacups did save me a lot from buying expensive party favors

   teacup+cupcake=<3>
@le cafe zadee: free teacups for everyone with heart marshmallows or chocolate rice crispies
my not-so-pretty diy paper bags, and zadee's merci-giveaways :D, something that I bought 15 pesos each @ toyrus :) and lest I forget, my diy cake stand 20 pesos platter, 35 pesos doily but got it for 30 pesos and 25 pesos bowl at our public market

& oh well I will never be somewhere in the bg, if I could divide myself into three, one in the kitchen, one in decorating, taking pictures...etc etc
